Larry Jones, 66, said the home now stands as a monument to Williams' heinous crimes. I wish they'd take the house down, he told the Ottawa Citizen in a telephone interview after reading accounts of Williams' abduction, rape and murder of Jessica Lloyd, 27. Just looking out the window now, it looks like a monument to Russ Williams — and it's a horror story, just a real bad horror story. A Belleville, Ont., court heard Tuesday that Williams broke into Jessica Lloyd's home and surprised her in a bedroom on the evening of Nov. 27, 2009. She was bound and sexually assaulted. Williams then forced her into his SUV and drove her to his cottage in Tweed. I just wished I would have heard any sound at all next door: I would have been over there. Jones said he remembers the weekend in question: there was no sign of any activity at Williams' cottage. The house next door was in total darkness, he said. There were no lights on in his bedroom; there were no lights at all. He must have put something over the windows because we couldn't see in there at all. From his home, where he lives with his wife, Bonnie, Jones has an unobstructed view of Williams' cottage. It's now a tourist site, he said, with 10 or 15 people a day driving down Cosy Cove Lane to look at the house — and twice as many on weekends. Williams and his wife, Mary-Elizabeth Harriman, purchased the cottage in 2004.
